Art produced during the Meiji period in Japan was reflective of the nation’s new engagements with foreign cultures. As western painting began to influence traditional Japanese painting techniques, a new style was developed.
This duo of ink wash scrolls feature three tigers. Astoundingly detailed despite the slim space, these two works would look excellent containing a gallery wall between them, or equally as delightful paired together exclusively. Each measures 52”H and 14.25”W.
